  Communications

The Information and Consultation of Employees (ICE) Regulations introduced 6 April 2005 applies to businesses with 50 or more employees. This regulation gives employees the right to be informed and consulted on a variety of business and employment situations.  If you are thinking of introducing an agreement to address this matter, please contact us.

Disciplinary and Grievance

A written statement of disciplinary and grievance proceedings is required by Section 1 of the Employment Rights Act. From April 2009 statutory disciplinary and grievance procedures became more relaxed and the ACAS code of practice was introduced. These new procedures are to be applied when handling any accusation, misconduct, a dismissal, a demotion, or suspension. We provide compliant documentation, guidance and coaching to resolve any employee issue.




   Employment Contracts

Employers must provide their employee’s with written particulars, as required by the Employment Right Act (ERA) 1996 within the first two months of their employment.
  Holidays
 
As of 1st April 2009 Statutory holiday entitlement increased to 5.6 weeks (28 days if working a five-day week).  We have implemented holiday procedures and policies to make it easy for employers to manage their holiday for advice please contact us.


  Long-term Sickness

Following the DDP requirements, employees have rights under the Access to Medical Reports Act 1988 when a medical report is requested by the employer.  If the employee is considered disabled within the meaning of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, reasonable adjustments must be made to the employee’s job to accommodate their short/long-term requirements.   Maternity

All pregnant employees are entitled to both ordinary and additional maternity leave regardless of length of service.  Statutory Maternity Pay is payable for 39 weeks and this is not affected by any ‘keeping in touch days’.  We provide guidance and support throughout the process and ensure ease when managing flexible working requests.

  Performance Management

  Recruitment

  Redundancy

A genuine redundancy, as specified by The Employment Rights Act 1996, must occur to avoid an unfair dismissal claim.  Consultation and offering alternative jobs must be included in the redundancy process.  We offer assistance ensuring complence with employment legisaltion and support compnaies throughout the whole redundancy process.

   Retirement

A genuine retirement must be handled fairly if you are to avoid an unfair dismissal claim.  We help you work within the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 to ensure retirements are handled fairly.
